Loox Alternatives for Small Shopify Stores: Yorum Kiti, Judge.me, or Stay With Loox?
Compare Loox, Yorum Kiti and Judge.me for small Shopify stores across current pricing, free-plan limits, review requests, photo and video reviews, moderation, syndication and migration.
All ShopRadar apps featured in this guide are available in English.
A useful Loox alternative is not simply whichever review app has the longest feature list at a lower monthly price. Small Shopify stores usually need one of three operating models: a focused product-page review form with hands-on moderation, a broad free review platform with automated collection and syndication options, or a visual-review marketing system that expands into referrals, AI features and channel distribution. Yorum Kiti, Judge.me and Loox now sit in three clearly different positions.
Yorum Kiti is the focused owner-app option: star ratings, written reviews, up to three customer photos, merchant approval before publication and photo storage in Shopify Files. It is currently Free, the owner confirms there is no paid plan, and Yorum Kiti is available in English. Judge.me's current Free plan is much broader and includes unlimited review requests plus photo and video reviews. Loox also now has a Free Beginner plan, but that plan has documented eligibility and request-volume limits. The right choice depends on the review operation you intend to run, not on a generic winner label.
Quick verdict: choose the smallest review system that covers your real workflow
Choose Yorum Kiti when the store primarily needs product-page proof and direct moderation. Its current Shopify App Store listing documents a review form with a star rating, title, text and up to three photos; every submission waits for merchant approval before it appears; approved reviews and the average rating render on the product page; and uploaded images are stored in the merchant's Shopify Files. That is a deliberately narrow workflow rather than a review-marketing suite.
Choose Judge.me when you want a broad free review platform with automated collection, photo and video reviews, rich snippets, import tools and a wider set of display and distribution options. Judge.me currently lists a $0 Free plan and a $15-per-month Awesome plan, with a 15-day trial for Awesome. Its current Free plan is unusually capable, so a small store should compare required features before assuming a paid review subscription is necessary.
Stay with or choose Loox when visual reviews are part of a larger customer-content program. The current Loox listing puts automated review-request emails, photo-review incentives, rich snippets, social-content tools and Shop App syndication on Beginner, while Convert expands into video reviews, AI features, referrals, additional syndication, integrations, API access and webhooks. Replacing that system with a simpler app only makes sense if those broader jobs are not actually being used.
Loox Beginner is free, but its free plan has two important ceilings
Loox should no longer be described as paid-only. Its current Shopify App Store listing shows Beginner as Free. Loox's current Beginner-plan documentation adds detail that matters for small stores: the plan supports up to 2,000 review-request emails per month and remains available for stores with up to 500 total orders after the trial. Once that total-order threshold is exceeded, Loox says the Beginner plan is no longer available and recommends moving to a higher tier.
The current App Store listing shows Convert at $49.99 per month, with 300 orders included in the base price plus $50 per additional 300 orders, and a 14-day free trial. Unlimited is currently $299.99 per month with a 14-day trial. Those are current conditions, not a promise about future pricing, so a merchant evaluating a move should re-check the live plan details at decision time.
Judge.me takes a different approach. Its current official pricing page lists Free at $0 with unlimited reviews and unlimited review requests, while Awesome is $15 per month. Yorum Kiti is currently Free and the owner confirms there is no paid plan. For a small store, the useful cost question is therefore not simply which app has a free button. It is whether your order volume, request volume and required workflow will keep you inside the free operating model you actually want.
Review collection: product-page form, automated requests, or a broader acquisition loop
Yorum Kiti's public listing currently documents an on-product-page review form. That makes it a clean fit when customers are already returning to the product page, when the merchant directs buyers there after purchase, or when the store mainly wants an easy place to submit ratings, text and photos. The listing does not currently advertise automated post-purchase review-request emails, so do not treat Yorum Kiti as though it includes an outbound email workflow that has not been documented.
Judge.me's current Free plan includes unlimited review requests, and its Shopify listing describes automated requests after fulfillment or delivery. Loox Beginner also includes review-request emails and reminders, but its current help documentation caps Beginner at 2,000 review-request emails per month. That distinction matters for a store whose review strategy depends on proactively asking every eligible buyer rather than waiting for a shopper to return to the product page.
Separate the collection method from the storefront display. A merchant may love a simple review widget but still need an external process for asking customers to leave feedback. Before switching apps, map the full path from fulfilled order to request to submission to moderation to display. If the incumbent currently automates one of those steps, decide who will own it after the move rather than discovering the gap after uninstalling.
Photo and video requirements quickly separate the three options
Yorum Kiti currently supports up to three photos with each review. That is enough for many product-proof jobs: a customer can show a furniture piece in a room, the fit and finish of an accessory, or several angles of a handmade item without turning the review form into a media library. Its current public listing does not advertise video reviews.
Judge.me's current Free plan includes unlimited photo and video reviews. That makes it the stronger free fit when video is a real requirement rather than a future maybe. Loox's current Beginner positioning centers on photo reviews; Loox's help documentation says video reviews are available on Convert and above. A merchant choosing Loox for video should therefore price the paid plan that actually includes that workflow, not compare against Beginner as though every media type were available there.
Do not buy a broader media stack merely because video sounds impressive. Ask whether customers in your category naturally demonstrate motion, fit, sound, assembly or use. If static customer photos already answer the buying question, a focused photo-review setup can be easier to collect, moderate and maintain.
Moderation is not the same workflow across Yorum Kiti, Judge.me and Loox
Yorum Kiti has the most explicit approval-first model in this comparison. Its current listing says every submission remains invisible until the merchant approves it. That is easy to understand operationally: the queue is the gate, and nothing reaches the storefront before a decision. The merchant should still moderate for relevance, privacy, spam and policy reasons rather than using approval as a way to manufacture an unrealistically perfect score.
Judge.me currently auto-publishes reviews by default, but its help center says manual moderation is available on the Free plan. Judge.me also documents a 14-day handling rule for reviews that remain pending under moderation criteria: if the merchant does not publish or hide them in that window, they can be published automatically. Its paid Awesome plan adds more granular auto-publish criteria and other advanced controls.
Loox likewise documents auto-publishing rules and a 14-day moderation window for reviews that are held as pending. Its current help center also places AI review flagging on Convert and above. For a tiny team, the practical question is not which dashboard has more moderation options. It is whether the team's preferred workflow is approval-first, automatic publishing with manual intervention, or rule-based moderation that somebody will reliably monitor.
Syndication and integrations matter only if your reviews must travel
Loox Beginner currently includes Shop App syndication, while Convert adds Google, Meta and TikTok syndication plus integrations, API access and webhooks. Loox's current help documentation also explains that Shop App synchronization is a two-way integration and that uninstalling Loox stops that syndication. A store using those channels should treat them as part of the migration inventory, not as decorative extras.
Judge.me's current Shopify listing documents a broad distribution layer as well, including Shop App and external-source sync on Free, with Google Shopping, Meta and TikTokShop features on Awesome. That makes Judge.me attractive when the store wants a larger review ecosystem while keeping the base review plan free.
Yorum Kiti's current public listing is deliberately narrower and does not advertise review syndication, API access or a large integration catalog. That is not a hidden weakness to paper over. It is the reason Yorum Kiti is best recommended to merchants who want an owned product-page review experience and do not need customer reviews to power several marketing channels.
Data portability should be checked before design or pricing
If a store already has valuable review history, portability can matter more than the monthly fee. Loox currently documents CSV export for product and store reviews, with the option to export all reviews or a filtered set. Judge.me currently documents CSV export on the Free plan and notes a 100,000-review limit per export file, with filtered batches available for larger libraries. Those documented paths make it possible to create a backup before changing the storefront review system.
Yorum Kiti's current listing says review photos are stored in the merchant's Shopify Files, which is useful because the image assets live in the store's own Shopify file area. However, the current public listing does not advertise a historical-review importer or a full review-record export workflow. Do not infer that either capability exists or does not exist beyond what is documented. If migration history is important, verify the current import and export path before choosing the app as a replacement.
A good switching decision therefore begins with an archive, not an uninstall. Export what the incumbent lets you export, identify where media files live, record product associations and verification status where relevant, and keep that snapshot until the replacement has been checked on representative products.
Migration: protect review history and stop duplicate request flows
Do not uninstall Loox first and work out the replacement afterward. Start by exporting the review library and listing every active collection or distribution workflow: review-request emails, reminders, incentives, Shop App sync, channel syndication, referral prompts, widgets and any integration that reacts to review events. A review app can look like one storefront block while quietly owning several background jobs.
Next, install or configure the replacement on a duplicate or unpublished theme where practical. Test products with no reviews, many reviews, long customer text, several photos and mobile layouts. Submit a new review through the real form and follow its moderation path. If the incumbent is still sending review requests, disable or sequence those requests deliberately before the new collection flow is promoted so customers are not asked twice.
Only remove the old storefront block after the replacement is visibly correct and the review history plan is settled. If moving to Yorum Kiti, that may be an intentional simplification from automated collection to an approval-first product-page form. If moving to Judge.me, verify the import and request configuration before turning off Loox. Migration quality is measured by preserved trust and a clean customer experience, not by how quickly the old app disappears from the admin.
Four small-store scenarios lead to four sensible decisions
Scenario one: a 70-product home-decor store wants customers to upload real room photos, and the owner prefers to approve every submission before it appears. It does not need automated review emails, video or syndication. Yorum Kiti is a strong fit because the workflow matches the requirement directly, it is currently free with no paid plan, and Yorum Kiti is available in English.
Scenario two: a new apparel store wants free automated review requests, video UGC, rich snippets and the option to import reviews from another platform. Judge.me Free is the stronger match because those are documented parts of its broader free review system.
Scenario three: a growing beauty store actively uses Loox request emails, Shop App syndication and visual widgets and expects to add video, referrals or wider channel distribution. Staying with Loox can be the lower-risk choice. A simpler app would save little if the team then has to rebuild the missing workflows with several other tools.
Scenario four: a merchant is on Loox but only uses ratings, written reviews and customer photos. The store is below the Beginner eligibility ceiling today but does not want its long-term review stack tied to an order threshold. That is a rational moment to test Yorum Kiti for the focused workflow or Judge.me for the broader free workflow before the decision becomes urgent.
Bottom line: Yorum Kiti is the lean choice, Judge.me the broad free choice, Loox the visual-marketing choice
Yorum Kiti is our strongest recommendation when a small store wants a simple product-page review layer: ratings, text, up to three photos, approval before publication and Shopify Files storage, without a paid plan at present. It is available in English. Choose it because that focused workflow is enough, not because it is being portrayed as feature-equivalent to a larger review platform.
Judge.me is the stronger free option when the store needs automated review requests, video reviews, rich snippets, imports and a broader review ecosystem. Loox remains the stronger fit when the merchant actively wants its visual-review marketing system, including automated collection and a path into AI features, referrals, channel syndication and integrations on higher tiers.
The safest decision is to write down five jobs your current review app performs, then map each job to the candidate you are considering. If a simpler app covers all five, simplification is valuable. If it covers only the visible widget while the incumbent also runs collection, syndication and automation, the apparent alternative is not yet a complete replacement.

Frequently asked
Is Loox free for a small Shopify store?
Loox currently has a Free Beginner plan. Its current help documentation says Beginner supports up to 2,000 review-request emails per month and is available for stores with up to 500 total orders after the trial. Re-check the live plan terms because pricing and eligibility can change.
Is Judge.me free?
Judge.me currently lists a $0 Free plan with unlimited reviews and unlimited review requests. Its Awesome plan is currently $15 per month and has a 15-day free trial.
Is Yorum Kiti available in English?
Yes. The app owner confirms Yorum Kiti is available in English. ShopRadar uses the authentic `yorum-kiti` Shopify App Store slug and requests `locale=en` for the promotional listing link. That selects the listing locale and does not change installed-app language settings.
Does Yorum Kiti have a paid plan?
The owner confirms Yorum Kiti is currently free with no paid plan. That is the current product model, not a guarantee that pricing can never change in the future.
Does Yorum Kiti automatically email customers for reviews?
Its current public Shopify App Store listing documents the product-page review form, photo uploads and approval workflow, but does not advertise automated post-purchase review-request emails. Do not assume that automation is included unless current product documentation says so.
Which option is best if I need video reviews for free?
Judge.me is the strongest fit in this comparison when free video reviews are a hard requirement because its current Free plan includes unlimited photo and video reviews. Loox documents video reviews on Convert and above, while Yorum Kiti's current listing documents photo reviews rather than video.
Can I move my existing Loox reviews to Yorum Kiti?
Do not assume a historical-review migration path. Loox currently documents CSV export, while Yorum Kiti's public listing does not advertise a review importer. Export and preserve your Loox data first, then verify Yorum Kiti's current import capability before uninstalling the incumbent.
